The Provençal Festival of Youth Orchestras was created in 2005 as a sister to the Florence Youth Festival. It takes place every summer in the sun-soaked region of PACA (Provence & Côte d’Azur), southern France. This stunning area – nestled between the Mediterranean sea and the Alps – is famous for its artistic and cultural heritage, rolling lavender fields, ancient Roman architecture, hilltop towns and the glamorous centres of Nice, Cannes, Aix-en-Provence, Arles and Avignon.
The Festival welcomes youth orchestras from all over the world to participate between end June and early August each year. The Festival venues are amongst the best that France has to offer, ranging from outdoor amphitheatres and café-clad squares to castles, cathedrals, palaces and concert halls. Accommodation and transport can be included as part of your Festival package and joint concerts with other orchestras or concerts with local soloists can also be arranged on request.
